Wright Service Corp. has been named the 41st largest employee-owned company in America, according to the National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO) Employee Ownership 100 list, up two spots from last year’s list. Wright Service Corp., headquartered in West Des Moines, Iowa, is the only employee-owned company representing Iowa on the list.

To be on the list, companies must be at least 50 percent owned by an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) or other qualified plan. In 2017, the top 100 employee-owned companies employ more than 615,000 people.

In 2002, the decision was made to transfer ownership of Wright Service Corp. to the employees through an ESOP. For our organization, shared ownership helps promote a positive, unique organizational culture and supports the company’s success. The ESOP is also designed to assist our employees with their retirement and provide them with a financial stake in the company.
