Wright Service Corp. Receives National ESOP Award
Wright Service Corp. has been selected by The ESOP Association as the winner of their 2017 Annual Awards for Communications Excellence (AACE) in the Video Category. The AACE Awards are sponsored each year by The ESOP Association to recognize the outstanding communications and educational programs of its members. The AACE Award will be presented in May at the Association’s Annual Conference in Washington, D.C., and Wright Service Corp. will have three company representatives attending the conference as well as the awards ceremony to accept the award. Other winning companies who have excelled in communicating the employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) and its meaning to the company’s employees will also be awarded during that time.
“We are excited to be a recipient of a 2017 AACE Award,” said Scott Packard, Wright Service Corp.’s chairman and CEO. “We became employee owned because we care about our employees and their communities. This fosters a sense of pride in the company and lets employees share in the harvest each year.”
Wright Service Corp. is proud to be employee owned since 2002, and 100 percent employee owned since 2006. As of August 2016, Wright Service Corp. is the 43rd largest majority employee owned company in the U.S. according to the National Center for Employee Ownership. The 2017 year marks the company’s 15 anniversary as an employee owned company.
“This is the first video that we’ve dedicated to employee ownership and we’re really proud of the fact that it was all developed in-house by a talented team of employee owners,” said Packard. “We have an impressive history of longevity in the company along with loyalty and pride for our values, so we wanted to bring that all to life. We think the video represents our employees and their understanding of the unique ownership culture we have.”
The video was produced with the employee demographic at the forefront – testimonials at all levels and areas of the company were gathered so that the entire company as a whole was represented.
“Having our employees determine how the video would go is a testament to their investment in the company just as much as it is a testament to our investment in them,” said Packard.
