Congratulations to Nate Demby, this year’s Employee Owner of the Year!

Congratulations to the 2023 Wright Service Corp. Employee Owner of the Year, Wright Tree Service Division Manager Nate Demby!

The award serves as recognition for an employee within the WSC family of companies who is an outstanding citizen, exhibits the characteristics of an employee owner and the values of our company, and makes contributions in the best interest of the company.

The Employee Ownership Committee went through all the nominations and selected six nominees to move forward through the judging process. A judging panel consisting of management across companies ultimately selected Nate to be named this year’s Employee Owner of the Year.

Regional Manager Greg Williams surprised Nate with the news and awarded him with a framed certificate. 

Nate has been with Wright Tree Service for eleven and a half years, residing in Lawrence, Kansas.

Nate is currently the Division Manager over Division 15 of WTS, and one of his nominators wrote that “Nate has been in the LEAD Program this year, focusing on his own professional development. He then worked to share that development with others on his team. He partnered with the Training & Development Department to bring True Colors to all of his GFs. Going outside of his own division, he shared details of his development journey by speaking with the Women of Wright. He was candid in sharing lessons he has learned.”

One of Nate’s nominators also wrote, “Nate shows ownership through his willingness to develop himself and others. He is frequently willing to try new things in an attempt to improve his division and the organization as a whole. I hear his name come up among various teams at WSC when people are looking for a trusted leader to assist with or champion changes. He is also trusted and respected by his team members. I had the opportunity to ride along with one of his GFs who expressed his opinion of Nate by saying ‘If you can’t get along with Nate, that’s a you problem.’” Nate’s nominator continued to add, “Nate’s division was the top contributing group to the WTS employee recognition program, which is reflective of his leadership. His team members shared kind words and encouragement for others in and outside of their division. This shows that his appreciative attitude is having an exponential impact.”

Another one of Nate’s nominators wrote, “Nate truly cares about the well-being of our organization and more importantly our employees. In conversations and shared meetings, Nate always puts our employees first and works to improve being more effective in order to lead his team. The care he has for his teammates shows through in every interaction I have with him.”

Congratulations again, Nate! This award is well-deserved.

As this year’s winner, Nate will receive a special invitation to the Annual Awards Banquet, a $500 check, an engraved award, and recognition in the WSC newsletter and website.
