As an employee-owned company through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), all employees in the Wright Service Corp. (WSC) family of companies are invited and encouraged to participate in our annual Employee Ownership Poster Competition! Note: This is open to all employees whether you are a current participant in the ESOP or Deferred Share Unit (DSU) Plan or not.
What is the Employee Ownership Poster Competition?
Every year, the national organization that serves ESOP companies, called The ESOP Association, opens up their Annual Award for Communications Excellence (AACE). Companies that are part of The ESOP Association, like WSC, are invited to submit entries into AACE. The ESOP poster is one of the categories that a company can submit an entry to be considered for an award.
The ESOP poster competition is intended to be a visual poster that conveys what employee ownership means at our company. And we want you, our employees, to be the ones who have a voice to share truly what that is.
So to make things fun (and a little competitive), we’re opening up the competition to you to submit what an ESOP poster would look like if you could create one yourself.
How Will This Work?
- Employees have until April 4 to fill out the form with all the information that would help a graphic designer design your poster. We strongly encourage you to put as much information in the entry form as possible so your concept can be brought to life. This form is your one chance to communicate how you want your poster designed. There is even an option to upload an image if you would like to sketch out what you’d like your poster to look like. Supervisors who have employees who don’t have company email addresses are encouraged to share this competition with their employees so that they can participate and submit an entry.
- Then, the Employee Ownership Committee, a group of 19 WSC employee owners, will serve as the panel of judges for the competition. They will judge all the entries that are received across our family of companies. The entries will be judged on which ones have the best opportunity to clearly, powerfully and effectively convey employee ownership at WSC. The panel will dwindle the entries down to the top three.
- The top three entries will then be sent back out to all employees to be voted on. Employees with company email addresses will receive an email where they can vote for their favorite entry. Supervisors who have employees that don’t have email addresses are encouraged to share the information with their employees so that they can cast their vote. More information to come on how to cast your vote.
- The winning submission will be handed off to a professional graphic designer who will take the direction of the top entry and design a separate poster to represent the winner.
- The winning submission will be announced via email in May.
- Last but not least, the winning submission will be printed on a large poster and shipped to The ESOP Association. Our submission will then be judged by The ESOP Association alongside posters that other ESOP companies have submitted. We will announce the winners of the poster competition regardless of whether our poster is selected as one of the winners.
Winning Prizes
The winning poster for the WSC ESOP poster competition is $500 USD, paid for by the WSC Employee Ownership Committee!
If the poster is selected as a winner by The ESOP Association, they will display the poster at their 2025 national conference, along with recognition at the awards ceremony.
